My wife and I also just saw the first installment. Not bad.
I don't know about the Room of Renunciation necessarily, but it's an
awesome idea for making an Otherspace the central theme of a game.

At first I sort of felt the same way, but then I realized I actually
much preferred their acceptance of the weirdness over the usual boring
crap that a protagonist has to go through to convince everyone else
that yes these baubles really are magic.
The only part I didn't get was why the one investigator who was their
friend suddently turned into some sort of a fanatic immediately after
finding out about the objects. Some sort of mind altering effect
induced by that screech over the phone? Or was he just a nut to begin
with and hiding it very well until now?
