I remember a french movie about exactly that subject. A guy who always had a
camera with him to film his life. The director of the movie called it the
writer's paradox: should you live life, or you should write about it, but
miss on living it? Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the movie.

It does seem ripe for a school, in my opinion.
