Something you should know about Austin is that its culture is about 
100% inverted from the rest of Texas.  It's like Israel and the rest of 
the Arab world only with more guns (but less shooting of them)*.

Here's a sort of quick reference grid.  Caveat emptor: I've been to 
Texas three times and Austin once.  But if you're in a foreign land, no 
one will know the difference, right?
