I invoke the unsurpassed symbol mangling and splicing power of the UA
list! What do y'all make of the name "Sweetie Pie"? I'm specifically
hoping for a mythological name that, when overheard by the ignorant,
might sound like "Sweetie Pie". Or something.

(If you know the real provenance of "Sweetie Pie" as something bizarre
and creepy, please keep it to yourself for just a little while, so as
not to taint the reply pool? Thanks.)

Ok, just a few preliminary thoughts, in the hope that someone can build something more concrete (and unnatural) on this basis...
Rather than abbreviations or phrases that "Sweetie pie" could stand for, I've looked for words which would sound like "sweetie pie", and these are the first couple of things I came out with:

"Suo-hu Ti Pai" (not sure, but I guess the pronounciation should be similar to "Sweetie Pie") is, according to this site, an ancestor of Mah-Jong: http://leroy.blogdns.net/MahJong/musee.aspx Not very creepy or unnatural in itself, but could there be some symbolism in the game? I don't know anything about Mah Jong...

Or, the end of the phrase coul be "Ipai" or "Tipai", which are the names of two native tribes in California:

Or Typoi, ancient Greek for "categories, models, archetypes" (in fact, that's where the "type" in "Archetype" comes from). Unfortunately, since I don't have access to my ancient Greek vocabulary at present, I wouldn't be able to find anything for the first part.

Hope this can lead you somewhere!

  D.
