Well... according to acupuncturists, there are parts of the body -- the 
outer ear, for one -- that resemble the whole body in some odd proportions 
or arrangements. In essence, the body is like a crystal; it has repeating 
structures everywhere. Tumors and such have faces because they only 
represent one part of the whole. To continue the crystal analogy, they are 
fractures where only part of the pattern exists. If not removed, the cracks 
grow until the entire pattern is compromised.

And upon further consideration, I'm not sure this is just an analogy.

Another testament to humanity's ability to identify faces even when there 
are no faces present.  See also: giant face on Mars.  The best debunking 
maneuver I ever saw for that one was a one-two punch of (1) a cleaned up 
photo turned upside down so that it looked like a mountain and not a face at 
all, and (2) an image that looked much MORE like a face... that was found 
under a microscope examining (IIRC) an ovarian cyst.

And now for the UA-down: Why do tumors have human faces?
