During the Renaissance, the standard practice for priests, bishops and
cardinalls who wanted to favor their bastard children was to refer to
them as their nephews. I tend to assume that Donald and Mickey (why
does everyone forget about Mickey's nephews?) were doing the same.

In one cartoon, Donald is taking a bath when some forest animals peek
into his window. He grabs a towel and covers himself - from the waist
down! He hides the stuff that normally is exposed, and leaves exposed
the stuff normally hidden! What is the meaning of this? Is he in some
sort of disguise for his legs?
