I do a bit of future speculation with some actuary and
I see all bookstore's getting into the POD system.
Hell it's what I'd do. Your favourite titles will
never run out as the printing materials are good. The
size of your favourite bookstore will be the size of a
kiosk with a big chugging copy-room behind it.

Of course, anyone with a manuscripted magnum opus of
fan fiction and a bit of doodling on photoshop can
publish.

The question for me is whether big name publishers
will actually start up their own shops as a survival
mechanism.
