In his first cartoon, Tweety bird had pink peathers. Apparently the
censors thought he was naked, and told Warner Brothers to change the
character. So Tweety became yellow. The censors never complained that
Porky never wore pants, and really was naked fromt he waist down.
Tweety works better as a mask for the Nystic Hermaphrodite, too. Have
you noticed how Warner Brothers has been trying to market Tweety bird
as a girl, despite Tweety being male in the old cartoons? It has to do
with there being no major female Looney Tunes characters, but it makes
Tweety a good modern totem for MH avatars.
