[UA] 'Vanishing Point' a UA Movie?

I've just finished watching 'Vanishing Point' (see: http://tinyurl.com/uuvy4 
for details) a 1971 Cult 'road movie'. Which has a somewhat UA feel about 
it.

The plot is very thin, the films anti-hero, an archetypical loser, bets he 
can drive from Denver to San Francisco in under 15 hours. During the ensuing 
series of Police chases he is transformed into a (reluctant) Counter-Culture 
hero and if the final seqence of the film isn't an Ascencion I don't know 
what is.

It might be useable as the basis for a UA scenario....
