Sounds like a mechanomancer searching for the "perfect woman" automation he
created, but he invested so much of himself in the automation that he no
longer remembers that he was an adept or why he is searching for a mannequin
in a French maid's uniform.

Of course, the "perfect woman" being able to blend into human society most
successfully, has moved on and never looked back . . .
