Well, Lancelot de Lac is Lancelot of the Lake. The
Wasteland is a prominent feature of the Arthurian
Mythos when it is formed by the Fisher King's illness
or injury.

Sitting dab in the middle of the Wasteland is the
Chapel Perilous the source of the King's injury and
the ability to heal the land. This is sometimes a
powerful artefact. Sometimes it is a monastery or
nunnery. Sometimes the object is the Grail or the
Spear of Destiny.

The Chapel Perilous is also the resting place of the
Green Knight. The Green Knight is the incarnation of
the Land's physical and spiritual spirit.
