The Burger King commercials? The Sleeper response to the Mak Attax's agenda
of a proletariat magickal renaissance.
The Sleepers use the King commericals to add a layer of surrealism to the
art of flipping hamburgers, or at least to eating one. But, the critical
difference is the Attaxer's hope to foster a sense of wonder at an
infinitely strange and mutable universe. The Sleeper's want people to see
something weird and say, "Huh. That's a strange advertisement."
After all, we've come a long way from "I saw it on tv, so it must be real,"
to "I saw it on tv, must be special effects."
The King is even a deliberate smack across the face as Erica Fisher - she's
channelling the True King, while the advertisments play off the King as some
strange figure that seems less King and more sinister. Plus, they seem to
make the idea of being a King of a fast food restaurant more than a little
laughable. (There's a little more on this below)
Or perhaps it has nothing to do with the Sleepers.
Maybe that play that Erica Fisher was always intending to make, to displace
Derek as the leader, finally happened. Of course, once that happened, the
internecine conflict split Mak Attax right down the middle. There were those
who supported the Kingdom of Erica Fisher, consolidating her power under the
Golden Arches.
And there were those who fled to Burger King.
These advertisements are an expression of anger and discontent at Fisher,
communicated to the advertisements through [insert unnatural phenomena
here]. In addition to some of the annoyance leveled at Erica Fisher
described above, the advertisements are a direct charicature of her. The
advertisements play on some of Erica's defensiveness over gender roles, as
well asover the antiquated notion of kingship, and are just generally
designed to annoy her.

Inidentally, as far as I can tell, these guys are responsible for the
advertisements. Might be something to mine in some of their other work.
