[UA] Proxy/Mechanomancer question

I'd say go for it!  While it states in the core 2nd ed book that charge harvesting can't happen for schools with an internal ritual focus (stuff you do to your self) it was quite possible in 1st ed.  I thought I had read it was possible and had at one point several years ago, had an epoderamancer torture one of her almost accolytte's to death for some serious mojo when the PC's were about to pinch her (and to really shake things up with a major clue for them in the form of an escaped tattoo apprentice pounding crazely on their doors missing most of her face, etc... worked to really freak them out and set up a really nasty showdown).

I was half scared after rereading the proxy rules in UA but could have sworn I had seen an example (which gave me the idea, I'll admit) of an epoderamancer charge harvesting with a proxy.  I found it in POMO, last paragraph, pg 53.  I guess for suitably cinematic, "cool" ideas, and neat assed story ideas such as yours, fall back on 1st ed and go for it.  In the end, my rule tends to be "If it makes a damned fun story, do it!"... just don't let the PC's do it ;)... After all, to every rule, there is an exception and things can't always work just one way all the time without exception.  

If you need a bit more backing, she found an exceptionally rare proxy ritual (rarer then most) that allowed just that.  That could lead to some nice hunts for such ritual from other parties if the PC's happen to get their hands on it (or not but you know how info gets spread in the OU) and someone else is watching / hears of it... anyone... and after all is said and done with the memory thefts, it gets around to some nutter dukes, then say, TNI gets a wiff of it... and the SNG seeing that TNI seems to be onto something hot that involving some serious mystical sympathetic connection definitely want it themselves (and make sure TNI don't get it)... you get the idea.  Fun times ahead for the PC's.

Or the mechanomancer, being out of touch with time as tey are, is still working off of mystical principals that worked just fine in the 90's but not so well in the new millennium.  She's so out of sych though, she can still make it work... only problem is, it's rife with temporal problems every time she does it which don't seem to stop once the memory theft thing is ended if you want things to continue spiraling and the weirdness to mount :)

Great idea, now fly, fly!  Just watch out for those jet engines!
