I think Malfunction goes something like this: For every charge, you can get 
up to a thousand dollars in goods or currency (which is useful only as a 
medium of exchange and is, I think, still subject to your taboo, so you 
might as well get the goods whenever and wherever possible). Thus, to 
magickally get something worth more than $1000, you would just cast 
Malfunction and shove another charge behind it. Alternatively, perhaps you 
could cast it multiple times on the same "purchase" until it covered the 
list price. Your Mileage May Vary.

Nope. He'd still have his cash and therefore his power.

(I was referring to the $1000 limit on Malfunction. Either this miser pumped
a load of charges into some random magick or he formulated a signifigant
version of Malfunction.)
