They are known as bibliomulas (book mules) and they are helping to
spread the benefits of reading to people who are isolated from much of
the world around them.

It's not hard to imagine a Venezuelan bibliomancer with his own
bibliomula Library travelling the remote regions of the Andes,
searching for rare Incan texts to add to his collection. Could be a
fun NPC.
