It's just obsession. The break-up was bad. She said
one of those "last man on earth" things to him before
she walked out the door.

The theatre has significance of it's own. Prime first
date spot because of location. Also, prime break-up
area. There's something nearby, across the street, a
cafe maybe, a coffee house, a restuarant, where chance
has led people to break up with their SO's. Maybe the
theatre is old. The original owner moved here with his
new wife. She didn't want to be here. She didn't like
movies. She started having an affair. Husband caught
doing the deed on the balcony. He pitched the other
man over the side, strangled her on the steps. He
locked himself in there for like a week with their
rotting bodies watching "The Last Man on Earth."

So, the mastermind stumbles there after the break-up,
into the theatre, where they had there first date. And
he watches movies and he stews and he can't stop
thinking about her and the rush of different emotions,
he loves her, loves her so much he could eat her
alive, but he hates her, he wants to see her get torn
apart.

Meanwhile, he's stalking her, her friends, her
roommates, anyone he's ever seen her with. And that's
when he stumbles on the Underground and this is a guy,
a guy who's driven by this fantasy he's started
spinning in his hand. He'll do whatever it takes,
blood, sweat, piss, tears, strangling kittens.
