I also recommend the movie (The Salton Sea) -- Val Kilmer in a moody 
meditation on the nature of identity and self.  It's sort of your 
standard neo-noir 90s Tarantino-flavored movie, with the usual 
suspects in it, but the stuff about identity lifts it somewhat out
of the pack.

And come on, what a cast.  Kilmer, Vincent D'Onofrio, Luis Guzman, 
Peter Sarsgard, Deborah Kara Unger, etc.
