I don't know of any 'net articles, but I did work at one of those  
places while I was in high school. What kind of info are you looking  
for?

First things that pop into my head is the coating of burger grease  
you acquire by the end of a shift if you're working in the kitchen.  
You don't notice how often you smack your lips until it starts  
tasting vaguely of salt and beef.

Second thing, is that the combination of teenagers, food, and boredom  
produces some "entertaining" culinary results, though not as often as  
folks commonly expect. Throwing adepts into the mix presents some  
plot possibilities, though.

We got held up once, which mostly means that everyone ran into the  
back of the restaurant and hid. Thief got nothing. Funniest part:
"It's quiet. Maybe he left?"
"Dunno. Someone should look."
"Okay, you look."
"Oh HELL NO."

Memorable quotes:
"If you have time to lean, you have time to clean"
"Welcome to <restaurant name>, conveniently located about five feet  
from your car. May I take your order?"

"Welcome to <restaurant name>, may I take your daughter please?"
"Dude... my daughter is eight."
(He was the only guy that ever caught that one. Again, bored teens.)
