[UA] Sometimes UA Just Falls Into Your Lap

Even a tiny bit of minor fame can be really intoxicating. This is
what I got at What the Hell Con this last weekend. I was guest of
honor with a strong emphasis on the honor bit, and it was... weird.
I guess it might have something to do with my normal, day to day
experience as a stay at home dad to a two year old and a five year
old, both of whom have very cute hats. So normally I'm sort of this
bland gray entourage figure in the background of these sparking
primary color kids. Then suddenly I'm at a convention where people
really want to hear what I have to say, and are concerned about my
comfort, and where I can often just do what I feel like when I feel
like it without having to be interrupted to find someone's mittens or
help him go to the bathroom...

I can see how it would go to your head, if it was all the time. I
can see how you'd lose perspective, develop a gigantic sense of
entitlement, and slowly let those parts of you that deal with
practical matters and the concerns of others just... atrophy.

Warhol got it wrong. In the future, everyone will have privacy for
15 minutes.
