I'm pretty sure the idea is that if you're older than the
other children you'll be generally more physically adept.
At the very least you'll have had more time to get used to using your body.

Not that it automatically means you'll be a football ace, and thus chosen
for school teams and thus more likely to make it big in professional sport,
but I imagine it'd be easier to excel if you're stronger and faster than the
others.

As we all know, a higher body score means a higher chance of making those
signifigant skill checks in Gym class.
