Cool. Don't worry about it being particularly based on
western world mythologies - it concerned me for a
while when I first started working the idea up, but I
figure that with the setting for the most part being
Europe and America it keeps the emphasis just about
right.
Loki is quite possibly going to be a central character
- whilst not a god proper according to myth, he is a
god through association (and, well, regarded as such
by any that choose to follow him).
