In particular to the north-Western twin-peeks:
lumber mills, baseball, gold mines, 'indian burial grounds', V.F.W. 
Hall-as-bar, poker, guns-guns-Guns, highways through cornfield for miles.

Whenever I've tried to run in that sort of setting I've always gotten real 
good millage out of using gold mines tied into an 'indian burial ground', 
but they've been few-shot games that are more horror than action that end 
in a terribly squalid way.
