[UA] American attitudes and things

Hello there, from ye olde Europe.

Thanks God this list is full of thinking people and, it seems, noone is
offended by such an interesting -as blatant- off-topic.

OK, down to the point. No offense intended, if you, bunch of yanks, feel
somehow injured by my thoughts, consider it just a matter of ignorance (you
accusing a European of ignorance...?).

Well, maybe someone can explain me why you all (some of you, some of them)
so proud americans (I hate that one specially, cuban people are also
americans, in Spanish we tend to say "estadounidenses" that would stand for
"unitedstatian" -too long perhaps-), ALWAYS need to be related to a EUROPEAN
group, i mean, your country is full of ITALIAN-AMERICANS, IRISH-AMERICANS,
AFRICAN-AMERICANS... or even you are just ITALIANS, IRISH... a friend of
mine visited Ohio recently. A girl introduced herself as Italian. OF course,
she did not speak a single word of italian, was maybe 5th or 6th generation
and, honestly, I doubt she would be able to find Italy on a map... never
heard of ITALIAN-CANADIANS...

I do not understand that. Anyone could help me please?
