Hmm. Perhaps they've had a more coherently Canadian national culture, not
based around the blending of several disparate wholes?

Also, keep in mind that it's big geographically, but not all that big
population-wise. If you take a look at a map of the nighttime lighting,
you'll see 90% of the Canadian lights concentrated around the southern
border.
