I'm tempted to run with that one, it's got a great feel to it.
Reminds me of one of those "what you hear" rumors posted on a
different UA thread:

"It's no coincidence that only you ever seem to get the supermarket
trolley that lurches off in unexpected directions. It's trying to take
you somewhere. Of course, why it wants you there is something you
won't know until you arrive."
