This is a bit silly. The technology is woefully old
and it's mostly marketing preying on the ignorant.
Mobile/Cellular/Cellphones do exactly the same thing
anyway. 

This is not a new argument, I remember many crackpots,
kooks, and conspiracy theorists in my family exhoting
the evils and tracking abilities of credit cards, bar
codes, the metal sliver in banknotes, and, apparently,
any sort of serial number (especially those in any
sort of identity documents) as the Eyes of the Beast
or Godless Jew Communist One World Government Tactics
to take away cash from the common working man.

A far more eye-opening tool is celldar and ubiquitious
surveillance.
