Seems like I should do some rereading as well.

I agree: to many people the fictional character is far more real than
the actor.  Frankly, these days it seems if you wanted to be more like
the actor or actress, all you'd have to do is get arrested and go to
rehab.  Head shaving optional.

One thought though... if you did want to let a fictional character
into your game world, one could say it was inspired by a real person,
and use the real person as the inspiration.

A cliomatic ritual might ensure "everybody knows" who the real-life
inspiration for the cinematic hero is.  Conversely, telling an
iconomancer that he's impersonating a fake might be the equivalent of
telling a "baked" stoner that he's been smoking oregano.  Might be
just as funny as well.
