Frequent lurker, rare contributor speaking here. I'd be fine with some context for a posted link, even if just a bare bones description of what it's going to lead me to, but I'm not a hardliner when it comes to definitive UA connections. Discussion of the link as it relates to story ideas? Hell yeahs. Tired connection to "it's an X-mancer"? Please, no. I think of UA as an all around celebration of the weird and sometimes feel like the adepts and their insanities get a bit too much coverage on the list. I'd love to hear more thoughts on cults, bizarro corporations or non-profit organizations, real world eccentrics, mundanes kicking ass, and oddball history.
That's the beauty of the game though, imgo. It allows for lots of different kinds of play styles. I guess I'm just on board for context emphasis and people throwing out discussion seeds.
Random tangent: Any updates from people who incorporated elements of the "Lost Room" Sci -Fi mini into their campaigns? How'd it work out?
Random tangent #2: Don't know if I'll follow through, but I'm a big fan of thinly veiled or outright conversion of characters from pop culture into my games. Any interest in seeing a series of NPCs inspired by a wealth of obscure TV shows, horror novels, and/or cult movies?

In that case I'm going to third that, possibly going as far as suggesting
that these kinds of posts (the check-this-out kind) have a mandatory "how
this is relevant" or "how this can be applied to UA" part, much like how
these things are posted on the Delta Green mailing list.
Like this:
Subject "What is going on at 3:33?
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/thebigblog/archives/124676.asp
Man dressed as the phantom of the opera caught putting digital camera in
photographers backpack. Happens at "about 3:30 p.m"
AtUA (Applied to UA):
Ritual attempt? Personamancer working on a sig charge? "bear claw necklace
and a bottle containing an unidentified purple liquid", what's with that?
Something like that...
Thoughts?
