What the Universal Ascensionalists don't realize is that trying to get all humanity to ascend to the clergy at the same time would cause such conflict in the fabric of the universe that existence itself would cease to exist, basically the Ultimate Blue Screen Of Death.  That's why the North Korean hotel must not be finished and the Alter Tongue had to be stamped out.

The Ascensionalists also help promote the new flood of ghost hunting, UFO sighting, and cryptozoology-based television shows.  By bringing the miraculous and impossible closer to the everyday world, it becomes a little more possible for man to reach the Statosphere.
