The Showtime series is vastly superior to the books.
That's such a weird thing to say, but it's true. The
series takes the premise and the characters, mostly,
keeps a fraction of the plot, throws everything else
out and does it's own thing. Season 1 mostly follows
the first book, but from there it pretty much does
it's own thing, and it does it far, far better.
