Gosh. While the Len Deighton pastiche of the first book made for a less
fluffy feel than the Ian Fleming influence of the second, I still found
The Jennifer Morgue highly entertaining.
My favourite of the Laundry stories, though, has to be Concrete Jungle
(included in The Atrocity Archives), if only because it's largely set in
Milton Keynes, and the opening scene takes place about a mile from my
house.
I noticed recently that there's a little stone utility cover in the
pavement outside my local Tesco that just says "Laundry" on it. I feel
very nervous every time I walk over it.
