Hrm. I think I can make use of this: have the New Deal
CAUSING WW2 (anything to get out of the depression,
after all). Small-town America would be a minor price
to pay for that.

Which would be an interesting rumour to throw into the
mix as either a red herring or the real truth: "Well,
for this 'new deal' to work, the magick has to be cast
accross party lines -- what do they want?"

Heh! I didn't even know that about him (not being
American is a hindrance in such a game). Would make
for an interesting side benefit Roosevelt would want
for himself. Perhaps an attempt to become the True
Politician and replace the True King? It never quite
works, but doesn't fail either. 

And from there, I've got this fun idea of the rituals
causing things (presidential assassinations, wars,
terrorism) in its attempt to 'finish' what it was made
for. A ritual that gained 'life' would be quite
disturbing indeed.
